Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, Training Corps Air Cadets 115 (Peterborough) , Deeping United Football Club, Deafblind UK

Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance – A Hospital in the sky. If you need the skills of an A&E department to save a life and keep a family together, Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance is there when you need us most. At a time when every second counts, the arrival of our iconic yellow helicopter really can mean the difference between life and death. We support your community by delivering the equivalent of an ‘A & E Department’ to some of the most seriously injured or ill people. Thanks to our crews, thousands of people still have their loved ones with them today. Our service uses a ‘state of the art’ helicopter and one Rapid Response Vehicle. We are not funded by the NHS, our service is wholly funded by the communities we serve. No one knows when they may need our service, but we can only be there for you and your families with your valuable support. https://www.ambucopter.org.uk/

The Air Training Corps - RAF Air Cadets 115 (Peterborough) Squadron's aim is to provide exciting and challenging opportunities for the youth of Peterborough and The Deepings, instil in our cadets the confidence to achieve anything they wish in the future and to encourage them in the words of our Squadron motto: Aspire, Achieve, Excel. RAF Air Cadets are community-based with more than 900 squadrons across the UK and open to anyone aged between 12 (and in Year 8) and 17 on entry. Amongst the many adventurous training opportunities on offer is the ‘Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme’. The activities we provide are exciting, rewarding and above all fun. You’ll discover skills you never knew you had, do things and visit places you never thought you would, and meet lots of like-minded people who will become your team-mates and friends. Our motto is ‘Venture – Adventure’ and our cadets know it’s more than just words – it’s an attitude that helps you stand out from the crowd. https://www.raf.mod.uk/aircadets/

Deepings United Football Club - As a club we set out to make a difference within the community. Not only are we offering people of all ages, ability and gender the chance to play football but we are also providing them with a sense of team working and belonging to a club that draws on all their skills. Our club is open to everyone and there is no upper age limit plus we have our brand new ladies football team and the first ever walking football team. Off the field we are already making a difference. At Christmas and Easter we donate to good causes and our latest gesture was a collection of Easter eggs donated by all at Deeping united to the Pet Refuge so they could sell them and use them as raffle prizes to raise their own funds with the help of friends and parents we will be providing the Deepings Carnival and of course the Raft Race, with volunteers so that working together we are actively involved in the life of community. https://www.facebook.com/Deeping-United-FC-1986982461620859/

Deafblind UK - Deafblind UK are a national charity based in Peterborough, supporting people with sight and hearing loss, enabling them to live the lives they want. Deafblindness is a unique and complex disability affecting the primary senses and while for some life can continue to be fulfilling, others may be left feeling afraid, isolated and alone. Deafblind UK can: match people with volunteers helping them to increase their confidence and regain their independence thus continuing to enjoy hobbies and activities; provide help and advice to people, family members or professionals with our free Information and Advice line; organise accessible social groups allowing people a safe space to enjoy social activities and for some the one chance they may have to leave the house; digital workshops to help reconnect with the world or introducing new technology that could help them to remain independent. We need to raise £35,000 every week to continue providing a lifeline to people experiencing combined sight and hearing loss across the UK. https://deafblind.org.uk/
